¿What are Reflexive Pronouns?
Los pronombres reflexivos o reflexive pronouns, se usan para referirse a nosotros mismos cuando la acción principal de la oración, es decir, el verbo, recae sobre el sujeto que está realizando dicha acción.
Ejemplo:
- He made this cake by himself.
- Él hizo este pastel por él mismo.
Los pronombres reflexivos en inglés normalmente se forman agregando “-self” cuando hablamos en singular, es decir, una sola persona. Por otro lado, si es plural debemos utilizar “-selves”. Esto podrás verlo con más claridad en la siguiente tabla.

El sujeto de la oración realiza la acción sobre sí mismo(a):
Ejemplo:
- I cut myself while shaving.
- Me corté mientras me afeitaba.
- She taught herself how to play the piano.
- Ella misma aprendió a tocar el piano.
- They blame themselves for the accident.
- Se culpan a sí mismos por el accidente.
También se pueden usar para enfatizar el sujeto de la oración:

- Yo mismo vi el accidente.
- The president himself made the announcement.
- El presidente mismo hizo el anuncio.
